1、 At present, the number of lead-acid batteries for electric vehicles on the market is still higher than that of lithium batteries, possibly due to the relatively high cost of lithium batteries. Therefore, in the design of existing "lithium electric vehicle" products, reducing the capacity of lithium batteries is often used to correspondingly reduce the implementation cost of the entire vehicle, which makes the existing "lithium electric vehicle" product models too singular.


Lead acid batteries and lithium batteries cannot be solely judged by their quality. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages and is suitable for different needs. At present, most lithium-ion products on the market are "electric bicycles" and the range is not very far. However, models with longer ranges such as four-wheel electric vehicles and four-wheel elderly electric scooters are still more suitable for "lead-acid batteries".


2、 Lithium ions mainly work by moving between the positive and negative electrodes. During the charging and discharging process, Li+is intercalated and deintercaled back and forth between the two electrodes: when charging the battery, Li+is deintercaled from the positive electrode, embedded into the negative electrode through the electrolyte, and the negative electrode is in a lithium rich state; When discharging, the opposite is true. Generally, batteries use materials containing lithium as electrodes, and currently, graphite is the most commonly used negative electrode. Compared with lead-acid batteries, lithium batteries have advantages such as light weight, large specific capacity, and long cycle life. As a power source for elderly electric commuting vehicles, they are not only lightweight, portable, and convenient to charge, but also contribute to the "lightweight and minimalist" design of vehicle products.


3、 The electrodes of lead-acid batteries are mainly made of lead and its oxides, and the electrolyte is a sulfuric acid solution. In the charged state of lead-acid batteries, the main component of the positive electrode is lead dioxide, and the main component of the negative electrode is lead; In the discharge state, the main component of the positive and negative electrodes is lead sulfate.


4、 The two types of batteries are different except that they both belong to energy storage devices. Lead acid batteries are safer and cheaper, but their energy density is lower than that of lithium batteries, so their volume is larger. At present, before breakthrough progress has been made in battery (energy storage) technology research, that is, before "low-cost, high-performance" batteries are put into commercial practical applications, the excellent characteristics of existing lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries can be combined for transformation and upgrading, as the main research topic at present and in the future. I believe this has a clearer direction for the future development of electric scooters for the elderly, and even the entire electric scooter industry.
